Despite their operational strength, UGS lacked a dedicated digital tool to track project statuses, manage liens, and streamline contractor workflows. To elevate their services and internal efficiency, they needed mobile and web applications tailored to their field-heavy environment—apps that would empower stakeholders to monitor projects in real time, handle lien documentation, and improve coordination across teams.

To elevate their services and internal efficiency, they needed mobile and web applications tailored to their field-heavy environment—apps that would empower stakeholders to monitor projects in real time, handle lien documentation, and improve coordination across teams.
The challenge was to encapsulate their brand’s precision and reliability in an intuitive digital experience where in-field traceability, accuracy, and transparency are paramount.

Our collaboration began with a deep understanding of UGS’s operational needs: what information contractors need on-the-go, how liens are tracked and managed, and how field teams communicate with back-office staff. Drawing on this insight, I crafted user flows that captured the core journey—tracking milestones, filing lien documentation, updating statuses, and notifying stakeholders.

Those flows guided the wireframe stage, where we refined layouts and navigation to ensure clarity, minimal friction, and consistency across both mobile and web. Once the foundational structure was in place, I moved into high-fidelity designs, building interfaces that reflect UGS’s brand values of precision and trust—clean visual hierarchy, clear status indicators, and purposeful feedback mechanisms where project updates and lien statuses are instantly visible.

These screens were then translated into interactive artifacts to test usability with stakeholders, iterated for clarity, and optimized for fast, accessible user journeys. Finally, I packaged the design work into a modular system—visual components and documented patterns—making handoff and future iteration seamless and scalable.
